Durham Regional Police Service are searching for a woman and a driver after an officer was struck by their vehicle while the pair were allegedly trying to escape an attempted arrest in Oshawa. On Friday, March 21, at around 1:30 p.m., police saw a suspect from a recent auto-theft investigation at a plaza at 22 Stevenson Road South, who they say was breaching her release conditions. As the police officer attempted to arrest the 31-year-old woman, they say she took off in a white Mercedes.

The TTC is changing the way passengers access Union Station on New Year's Eve. To enter the station, the TTC advises people to enter through the Brookfield Place doors on Bay Street, south of Front Street. If the station becomes overcrowded, people may be required to line up on Bay Street outside before entering the building.

Peel police say they have arrested and charged 10 people in relation to a kidnapping investigation in Brampton. They also say that they located three victims and rescued them. On December 17, officers responded to a home in the area of Kennedy Road and Conservation Drive. Police report that they found the victims in the residence. They also explain that they executed search warrants and say that they found a loaded Ruger Security 9 handgun, a Glock 17 Gen 5 handgun and ammunition.

Toronto residents of Ward 15 Don Valley West will head to the polls for a municipal byelection later this year. Nominations will open on July 22 at 8:30 a.m. and close on September 19 at 2 p.m.Election Day is November 4, with voting locations open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.Advance voting will take place on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.The office has been left vacant since the death of Councillor Jaye Robinson on May 17.
