The skin, our body’s largest organ, covers almost the entire surface of the human body and thus serves as an extremely vital and defensive barrier against dehydration and other environmental factors. To perform its functions, the skin must be in good condition. Properly hydrated skin is more resistant to external impacts, and ages more slowly than skin that is dehydrated. (1,2) This is where cosmetic and cosmeceutical products come in to tackle varied aspects.
