Island Escapes team outside their office in Castletown, Isle of Man (-)Island Escapes has been acquired by UK-based Sapphire Holidays Ltd. The award-winning Isle of Man holiday lettings agency, which manages more than 150 properties across the island, will continue to operate under its existing brand and with all staff retained. The company will remain based in Castletown. Founder John Keggin will stay on as Commercial Director under the new ownership.

Former Top Gear and Grand Tour presenter Richard Hammond has praised the Isle of Man TT for its unmatched atmosphere and sense of community. The broadcaster, who has ridden motorcycles for nearly four decades, said he was overwhelmed by the spectacle of the racing and the shared passion among fans. The 55-year-old is planning to ride out with hundreds of other TT fans and visitors during Sunday’s legacy lap of the world-famous Mountain Course.

The site in Jurby where the new reservoir will be located (Manx Utilities)A new £2.9 million water service reservoir and pump station is to be built near Ballamenagh Road in Jurby to improve supply for existing homes and support future development. Manx Utilities will begin construction of the facility, next to the former RAF Parade Ground, on June 9, 2025. The project is expected to take around 12 months to complete. The new reservoir will hold 750,000 litres of treated drinking water.
