    CBC Quebec is highlighting people from the province's Black communities who are giving back, inspiring others and helping to shape our future. These are the 2024 Black Changemakers. It was 2020, the pandemic had brought the world to a stop and Tayssa Waldron felt completely stumped by a problem she did not see coming. She had developed a kind of business matchmaking platform to connect women entrepreneurs with compatible and available funding in Canada. It seemed simple enough.

    CBC Black Changemakers was created to celebrate and amplify the voices of Black individuals across fields — from entertainment to corporate leadership. Four years later, it still feels like we're just getting started, but this project has quickly become a meaningful source of information, inspiration and empowerment. This year, there are a few changes. The most obvious one? Well, we're a few months away from Black History Month.
