1 BACKGROUND Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Cancer prevalence is expected to surpass 40 million cases by 2040 (H. Sung et al., 2021). The global economic burden of cancer is estimated to be $25.2 Trillion from 2020 to 2050 (S. Chen, Cao, et al., 2023). Cancer is commonly diagnosed through imaging such as computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and positron emission tomography (PET) in addition to pathological analysis of tissue biopsies (Fass, 2008).
