A 62-year-old female presents to the pulmonary clinic with a 1-year history of progressively worsening shortness of breath. She also reports a persistent dry cough. She denies any associated symptoms such as fever, chest or joint pain. There is no history of recent infections or environmental exposures. She works at a convenience store and denies having pets. She has never smoked, vaped or used illicit drugs. On physical examination, she appears without respiratory distress.
