    Sony has unveiled the VENICE Extension System Mini, a compact addition to its well-regarded Cinema Line designed to expand filmmakers' creative flexibility. Approximately the size of an average smartphone, this new system is about 70% smaller than the existing VENICE Extension System 2, making it ideal for handheld shots and capturing extreme action sequences, like Formula One races.

    Today, on their YouTube channel, Sony teased a small camera to be announced on March 26th. The tease shared no other information. It's likely a global shutter video camera, as Sony currently offers the a9 III with a global shutter but no video cameras featuring this technology, despite its groundbreaking potential for cinema. While some of the rumor sites are speculating this will be a new camera, to us the images look more like this will be a sensor replacement unit for the Sony Venice.

    For photographers it was more than a dominant performance by the Eagles, with standout plays from Hurts and rookie Cooper DeJean, who scored a pick-six on his birthday. It was a chance to watch hundreds of thousands of dollars of camera gear on display. Ben Liebenberg is the Director of Photography at the National Football League and a 4 time Emmy Winner. We met at Kando in Santa Barbara last year and during the Sony Alphs 1 II  launch event in NYC.
