Today, I visited the Nintendo Switch 2 experience in London. It was a really pleasant atmosphere; lots of kids of all ages visibly brimming with excitement to get their hands on the Switch 2 for the first time. Roars of excitement as gaggles of mates played the abysmally-named Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV. Hollering and whooping as one middle-aged bloke beats a handful of crestfallen kids in Mario Kart World.

It’s all gone wrong. We planned this out so meticulously, too. In the days leading up to the heist, my teammates and I were all legwork; casing the futuristic bank, pilfering the supplies we’d need to blow out the windows and make our escape, readying a hive of murderous drones so that we could infiltrate the target area under cover of some guys just looking to make a drop-off. We’d planned it, spent days making sure it was fool-proof. But, like any good heist, of course there was a complication.

About two days before this big Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, I purchased a new set of charging cables for my 3DS. The old ones, assumedly, are consigned to the depths of a ‘misc draw’ somewhere in my house, cursed to never see the light of day again. I nabbed these £3 beauties because I have had a hankering to play some bonafide classics again, lately: Shin Megami Tensei 4, Shin Megami Tensei 4: Apocalypse, and the original Bravely Default.

When 10 Chambers launched GTFO into early access in 2019, the world - and the video game industry - was a very different place. The studio, then formed of only nine staff, didn’t know if there was an audience for a super hardcore co-op FPS. So it launched the game as a very simple proposition: it was premium, you buy it once, and you get all the content. No MTX, no DLC, no nonsense.
