    The fallout from the current situation in the United States government continues to land on a variety of industries, but the tariffs have had an outsized impact on the tabletop market. The latest action comes from Stonemaier Games, the publisher of Wingspan, Scythe, and many others, as they announced that they are going to be part of a lawsuit against the US President over his tariff usage.

    While events like Nintendo Directs, PlayStation States of Play, and Xbox Showcases get all the headlines and coverage, often many of the best games are hiding just out of sight as indie games. These are innovative, clever, or otherwise different affairs than what we see from most of the big budget studios, but produce standout hits like Blue Prince, and Stardew Valley. Last year, some studios banded together for the Triple I Initiative, to create their own showcase event, and it was back today.

    While Tarkir: Dragonstorm may just be releasing now (along with the Tarkir: Dragonstorm commander decks), shipping errors from Wizards of the Coast are pulling eyes to June’s release: Magic: The Gathering - Final Fantasy. First reports came in that some prerelease kits were sent to Brazil by mistake instead of Tarkir: Dragonstorm ones, but those have managed to remain underwraps.

    Tarkir: Dragonstorm is, at the time of this publication, in pre-release, and with each clan getting its own preconstructed deck, we thought it only made sense to take a look at each one with some Tarkir: Dragonstorm commander deck reviews. Unlike past commander deck overviews we've done like with Aetherdrift's Living Energy, these are focused just on reviews, and not on upgrades as well.

    Every few months we see a bunch of upcoming games come and take to the walkway to strut their stuff and showcase what might be releasing in the next few months, this time in the Steam Next Fest for Winter 2025. What started as a COVID-era replacement of opportunity for events like PAX has become a consistent discovery point for many developers, with Next Fests now reliably having over 1,000 games in them.
