I know many of our members have experienced winter in its harshest form these last few weeks. Our own @AnnaOsnower was herself stranded in the Southeast for much of this week! Better days are ahead. Some thoughts to share: We are nine weeks out from the SISO CEO Summit and have one week left before early bird pricing jumps up to $200 on February 1st.

A handful of updates to share that I shared with members/future members last week:    It’s been busy on the acquisitions front, with several acquisitions taking place. Of recent note would be Informa acquiring Ascential, Hyve acquiring HLTH, Clarion making two acquisitions in the 1:1 space. And trust me, there are a lot of pots being stirred at the moment.   Several other members have raised/received additional funding to continue to scale their businesses.

From now until the polls close on Tuesday, November 5th, politics will be inescapably in the air – and in the workplace. Employees will be talking, and sometimes arguing, and sometimes participating in one campaign or another. Prudent employers should take note of what they may be required to do or prohibited from doing about their employees’ desire to participate in the electoral process.
