You don’t look to a Land Cruiser for its looks or levels of refinement; quite frankly, both are barely relevant when it comes to a vehicle designed and built as a workhorse. The main requirements for someone buying one - and the customer base is quite specific - are durability, reliability and off-road capabilities that are very hard to equal.

With the demise of the Ford Fiesta and the drift towards crossover and SUV styling by almost all car manufacturers, there are few enough small and affordable family cars on the market. There are exceptions - Dacia being one - and Suzuki, a smaller manufacturer whose cars are still made in Japan. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the latest version of the Suzuki Swift but I was certainly keen to discover what the price tag of €21,995 would represent.

Electric car pricing is about to get more competitive with the launch of Kia's EV3, the company’s new compact electric SUV. We don’t know yet what impact proposed price tariffs on Chinese cars sold in Europe will have - if any - on the cost of EV’s in Ireland, but Kia has now moved into a space that will allow it to challenge some of its established competitors.

Hi, I'm the author of https://github.com/skateco/skateSkate is a container orchestrator and also a P.A.A.S that deploys kubernetes manifests, but without the need to run anything near as complex. There's no control plane, which has it's tradeoffs, but is ideal for homelab setups (I built it for just that for myself). Skate supports multiple-hosts. The motivation is that I'm very comfortable with k8s in my day job, but I want something simple yet flexible for self hosting at home.

BMW has launched a massive global recall of vehicles it produced since June 2022 because of a potential braking problem. The models affected are the X1, X2, XM, X5, X6,X7, the 5 Series and 5 Series Touring, the 7 Series, the 2 Series Active Tourer, the MINI Cooper and the MINI Countryman. The fault in the electronic braking system, manufactured by Continental, is connected to reports of some owners having to apply more than normal pressure on the brake pedal to effect braking.

Ask any farmer about their preferred choice of vehicle and the answer is likely to be the Toyota Land Cruiser - a perennial favourite when it comes to durability and reliability. Its desirability is reflected in second-hand values: a used one in good condition and with low mileage can practically be auctioned rather than sold. Globally, Toyota has sold 11.3 million Land Cruisers.
