Introduction Priapism is defined as a penile erection that lasts for more than 4 h without sexual stimulus. It is traditionally classified as ischemic (low-flow), stuttering (recurrent ischemic), or non-ischemic (high-flow). While ischemic priapism should be treated promptly, the diagnosis of high-flow priapism made by Doppler ultrasound does not require urgent treatment.
