Fluoride (F-) is frequently found in natural water sources due to the chemical weathering of fluorine-rich minerals or the discharge of effluents containing fluorinated compounds [1]. At low concentrations, F- ions have benefits for human dental health; however, excessive concentration of F- ions can lead to detrimental effects, including dental and skeletal fluorosis, thyroid disorders, and kidney and liver damage, and interfere with DNA synthesis in humans [2].
