The Knicks have to defend home court advantage tonight against the upstart Pistons, but after running away from the Pistons in the fourth quarter of Game 1, I don’t think the Knicks are too worried about doing so tonight. The Dylan tune is “This Dream of You” from Together Through Life.

My sister and niece were in town from California, so I had to was very happy to have dinner with them during the game. I watched a lot of it surreptitiously through a reflection in the window of the restaurant. That was awesome, and it was clear that the Pistons are still a bit young and dumb, choosing to go for poster dunks instead of just making sure the ball actually goes into the hoop.

The Knicks host the Cleveland Cavaliers in a game neither team is all that interested in winning, so, well, I dunno, man, I guess we just hope that Jalen Brunson gets some nice minutes to show off his stuff? We won’t even get to see Mitch and KAT play together, as KAT is taking the game off. This could have been a really cool game, but now it’s all pretty meaningless. Let’s go, Knicks, I guess? The Dylan tune is “Fourth Time Around” from the classic Blonde on Blonde.

The Knicks head to Detroit to give a quick sign to the young Pistons that the Knicks are going to kick their ass in the first round of the playoffs is that turns out to be the 3/6 matchup. The Dylan song is the classic “Brownsville Girl,” which Dylan co-wrote with Sam Shepard.

The Knicks take on the Los Angeles Clippers, who are a fascinating team. They’re obviously a good team, and they have two Hall of Famers in their starting rotation, but at the same time, it just seems like they have no real upside as a team, since Harden is ancient, and Kawhi is not a spring chicken, either, plus his knees are like putty (hence the Dylan lyric for the title). And yet, they’re hanging in there with a lot of good teams, just barely losing to the Thunder in their last game.
