Published 10:21 am Wednesday, June 4, 2025 Jurors in Jeff Davis Parish will be spared from viewing autopsy photos in the death of a severely malnourished 12-year-old Lake Arthur boy. Judge Steve Gunnell of the 31st Judicial District Court has ruled that jurors will not be shown autopsy photos of the victim, Brogan Nash Duhon, during his parent’s murder trial. No date has been set for the trial.

Published 2:38 pm Tuesday, June 3, 2025 Former Fenton mayor Eddie Bruce Alfred Jr. was arrested Tuesday on charges of malfeasance in office and injuring public records. The arrest by Louisiana State Police followed an investigation into allegations that Alfred removed village documents when he left office in late 2024.

All Allen Parish schools will be closed Wednesday, March 30 due to the high winds and severe weather threat especially the north end of the parish, according to Superintendent Kent Reed. Schools will reopen on Thursday.
