    The Cincinnati Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks had their game halted by rain on Friday night at Great American Ball Park. Following the 6th inning the umpires couldn’t wait any longer as the infield had become saturated and was unplayable, so they called on the grounds crew to pull the tarp. And a few minutes later the Reds gave the thumbs up to start the fireworks show that was supposed to follow the game.

    The Cincinnati Reds made two roster moves today prior to the start of their home series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Infielder Christian Encarnacion-Strand was activated from the 15-day injured list. Catcher Austin Wynns was designated for assignment to clear a spot on the 26-man roster for him, but since he had no options he has to be placed on waivers once removed. There is some news, though, of a move that didn’t happen. Elly De La Cruz is not going on the bereavement list.

    We are still quite a bit away from the trade deadline, but that hasn’t stopped plenty of talk from both the local and national media about the trades that should be made. Two weeks ago Gordon Wittenmyer of the Cincinnati Enquirer wrote about how he believed the Reds should be sellers at the trade deadline. Two days later Cincinnati’s general manager Brad Meador pushed back on that idea – at least for the time being.

    After the Cincinnati Reds ended the 8-game winning streak of the Brewers on Tuesday night, Milwaukee came back on Wednesday afternoon and was able to get things back on track. They took the lead in the 3rd inning and they just kept on adding to their lead and never trailed as they picked up a 9-1 win that also gave them a series victory.
