The Wilmington High boys and girls track teams competed at the Middlesex League Meet at Burlington High School on Wednesday, May 21. The Wildcat boys had several solid performances. In the 400-meter run, Ashvin Baker was second in 50.79 seconds while Cam Jenks was 13th in the race in 54.82. WHS had top-10 performances in all three relays.

If there was ever a team that needed a nice victory to close out its season, it might have been the 2025 Wilmington High baseball squad. After a season that saw the Wildcats lose six one-run games and two two-run games, the Wilmington boys ended the campaign with a 2-1 victory over Mystic Valley High School in the consolation game of the Dick Scanlon Memorial Day tournament hosted by Wilmington.

The Shawsheen Tech baseball team completed a perfect season last Wednesday with a 11-0 win over Arlington. The Rams ended the year with a 20-0 record with the state vocational tournament and the MIAA tournament coming up. It’s the first undefeated regular season in Shawsheen’s program history. Shawsheen winning pitcher was junior righty Jake Carr. Carr tossed a complete game shutout win over six innings. He only allowed three hits and struck out three to earn the win.

While a five-game skid wasn’t exactly the way the Wilmington High softball team hoped to close out its regular season, after Monday’s 10-3 non-league loss to Lowell Catholic, Wilmington’s record is essentially 0-0 as the postseason is set to begin later this week. The MIAA Div. 3 state playoffs were set to be announced on Wednesday.

The Wilmington High girls tennis team closed out the regular season with two victories to end up with a 12-5 record as the Wildcats prepare for the Div. 3 state tournament. In a 5-0 win over Stoneham, Wilmington didn’t drop a set. In singles, Savannah Beatrice won by a 6-0, 6-1 score at the No. 1 spot while Alison D’Arco was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at second singles. At third singles, Jaslene Ryou won, 6-1, 6-0.
