As Coatney enters his second year in the music education field he has some of the first year “jitters” behind him and he also has come to understand and appreciate the unique opportunity of teaching in Schuyler. “Walking into the program last year it became obvious to me that we had a highly diverse set of students with a more diverse set of abilities," he said.

After defeating the Arlington Spartans 3-2 and 8-7 during the regular season of the Dodge County Baseball League, the Leigh/Schuyler Crawdads did not find the third time around to be a charm as the Spartans mauled the ‘Dads by a score of 19-1 at Merchant Park in Schuyler Sunday afternoon. The first-round loss in the league tournament ended the championship hopes for the Crawdads. “We thought we had a great chance in this tournament.

Tucker Ramaekers saved his best performance for his last start of the regular season as the Leigh/Schuyler Crawdads crushed the Pender Meadowlarks in Dodge County League baseball action Thursday night at Merchant Park in Schuyler. The game was promoted as “Community Baseball Night” by the Schuyler Chamber of Commerce with admission set at only $1 per person and prizes being given away after each half inning. The Crawdads made sure that the game lived up to its billing.

The Schuyler Central High School softball team will have a new head coach on the bench this fall as his squad hopes to turn the corner and have a season with multiple wins in the same year for the first time in quite awhile. Scott Anderson takes over a team in 2018 that has gone 1-23, 1-27, 0-26, and 0-22 since 2014. The first thing noticed on the practice field is a fresh enthusiasm by players and coaches alike. There was a definite feel of determination that was immediately impressive.
