Was this list thought all the way through? Hmm…Heading into the 2025 season, a lot of fans feel much better about the quarterback room for the New York Giants—especially with Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart as the primary backups to new starter Russell Wilson. With Winston currently serving as the primary backup, some would even argue that the Giants have one of the better backup quarterback situations in the NFL. At least, you’d think the Giants do.

New York could give Dart another weapon. Expectations for the New York Giants heading into the 2025 season aren’t very high, despite all the changes made to the roster. A return to the playoffs isn’t likely for a team that last made it in 2022—the first year under head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen. What does that mean heading into the 2025 season? They can afford to take some chances on some players who might have fallen out of favor with other teams.

The Giants' offense can’t get any respect around the league. When a team was the No. 31 ranked offense in the NFL, not too many people around the league were ever going to take their unit very seriously — which is exactly where the New York Giants stood in 2024. Their offense was also ranked No. 30 in 2023. Over the last two seasons since their last playoff appearance, Big Blue's offense has hovered near the bottom of the league — especially when it comes to scoring points.

Revenge is a dish best served in Week 7. Almost three years ago, the Denver Broncos made what many consider one of the worst trades in recent NFL history when they acquired Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks. After just two seasons, the trade didn’t work out — and Denver ended up cutting him. Now, three years later, each side will get a shot at revenge. Wilson, now the starting quarterback for the New York Giants, will face off against the team that released him following the 2023 season.

A proven veteran presence might be exactly what the Giants’ WR room needs. With the 2025 NFL Draft now completed, teams are beginning to solidify their rosters. For those who may have missed on certain positions in the draft, free agency becomes the next logical step. It’s also an opportunity to add veteran talent on a more team-friendly deal as the season draws closer. One of the top remaining free agents, wide receiver Keenan Allen, has been linked to the New York Giants as a strong potential fit.

My latest from @GMENHQ at @FanSided: Going into the season, the Giants OL showed improvements, but still has question marks. One of which, is the health of Andrew Thomas. Marcus Mbow could be a possibility at LT now that he’s getting some reps there. https://t.co/uHJzIu09ah

Only one year in the league and Malik Nabers has apparently already become a drawing point for veteran players. Wonder if any other players will want to come to the Giants in the future to play with Nabers too…

Russell Wilson says Malik Nabers is the reason he signed with the Giants. “I came here because of him. I really wanted to play with someone who is special like him.” This connection is going to be special 🔥 #NYGiants https://t.co/KU2H9nvi0e

Someone didn’t get enough sleep and woke up rather grumpy. Even while in her bouncy house for her birthday party today. 🥳 https://t.co/FswFOyUB5t
