FAYETTEVILLE -- The drive for a new direct democracy amendment to the state constitution began Friday, as soon as starting was possible, organizers said. "We wanted to announce last week, but had to wait for the regulations to be finished," said Bonnie Miller, president of the League of Women Voters of Arkansas. The league is joined in the petition effort by a coalition of groups called Save AR Democracy.
