Howard de Walden Estate (HdWE) is partnering with flexible workspace operator Spacemade initially for a project of three buildings with a total of 38,000ft2 at Hale House, 76-78 Portland Place. HdWE aims for the street to emerge as a leading London location for healthtech start-ups, investors and venture capital firms.

These demonstrate what it calls ‘a dramatic rise’ in their number in the independent sector with a 928% increase between 2016 and 2022. Mr Fadi Alfaqawi, aged 37, is based at the company’s eye hospitals in Birmingham and Bradford, where he splits his hours equally in a full-time salaried post to perform NHS cataract surgery and vision correction procedures.
