Ian Machado Garry hoped to have UFC welterweight gold on the line by now. It's been four months since Garry last fought in the Octagon at UFC 309. On relatively short notice, the Irish star stepped up to take on fellow undefeated contender Shavkat Rakhmonov. He suffered his first career loss in the fight, but his stock still rose even in defeat due to his strong performance in the bout.

WrestleMania 41 week is here. Monday's stop through Sacramento before WWE heads to Las Vegas left plenty to be desired. Little, if any, hype was added to the big annual super-event. Gunther never expected Jey Uso to win the 2025 Royal Rumble. Neither did the rest of the WWE universe. Uso's big February win led him to choose the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther as his WrestleMania 41 opponent for this coming weekend in Las Vegas. For many, a program between the two was an immediate head-scratcher as a feature feud for "the show of shows." Despite having no ideal opponent in mind, Gunther always expected to be in a big title defense on the two-night WWE showcase.
