    The Pittsburgh Steelers are stuck in purgatory in more ways than one. Last season, they traded Diontae Johnson, leaving George Pickens on an island in the receiver room. The offense struggled due to the lack of weapons. This offseason, the Steelers traded for DK Metcalf to help the struggling offense, but after trading Pickens to Dallas, Pittsburgh is back in the boat they were in last season. Despite how big of a headache he could be at times, Pickens will be missed in Pittsburgh.

    Rounds four through seven of the NFL Draft are littered with talent. The Steelers went fishing in the later rounds and brought back some talented football players to Pittsburgh. They passed on quarterback Shedeur Sanders multiple times, but made good picks toward building a better future in Pittsburgh. It was a trench-heavy draft for Pittsburgh in 2025. Pittsburgh surprised everybody by taking Ohio State linebacker Jack Sawyer in the fourth round.

    The Steelers had some issues to address in the 2025 NFL Draft. Pittsburgh didn’t have a second-round pick after sending it to the Seahawks for DK Metcalf, but they nailed the first and the third-round pick. The Steelers drafted defensive lineman Derrick Harmon from Oregon with the 21st pick in the first round and then selected Iowa running back Kaleb Johnson in the third round. This draft had Andy Weidl’s fingerprints on it.
