May 3 is just around the corner – which in means free comic books. The first Saturday of the month means it is time for a wide-ranging series of free comic giveaways, both to bolster the art form and to continue a sense of community. “I love seeing all the faces, new and old. We’ve got excited kids at their first Free Comic Book Day, and people that come every year. The hustle and bustle of the day is also my jam,” Curtis Sullivan, co-owner of Vault of Midnight, said.

“I have been an artist I guess since I could hold a crayon,” artist Sarah Innes said. Innes has been a member of the Washington Street Gallery on and off for years, but she is finally getting her first proper show this spring. Her art will be coming to Ann Arbor from April 30 to June 7 at the Washington Street Gallery. “We love her work and thought she would be a great fit for the gallery.

Matthew Altruda still can’t wrap his mind around something. He is a big part of the organization that comes together year after year to make Sonic Lunch happen, and has now been doing it for long enough that kids who grew up loving it are now old enough to go to college, and have have told him several times that they grew up with Ann Arbors free summer concert series.

From flavorful burritos to comforting enchiladas, the family-run restaurant delivers an array of authentic Mexican dishes. Burritos appear to be a decided strong suit. The Baria burrito for example is a lovely and filling meal with perfectly cooked meat. The family run establishment is actually two businesses.
