Event-driven, in-sensor computing can be performed by individual vision sensors composed of two parallelly connected photodiodes, enabling vision recognition of dynamic motion. In-sensor computing architectures provide direct processing of information within sensory devices, eliminating data conversion and transfer at the sensor–processor interface. They are thus more time- and energy-efficient than conventional computing architectures for data-centric tasks3.
