FAYETTEVILLE – It appears the Arkansas baseball program could be replacing its Golden Spikes winner with an All-American shortstop. Ball State switch-hitting shortstop Dylan Grego, an All-MAC first-team shortstop and third-team ABCD/Rawlings All-American, announced his commitment to the Razorbacks on Tuesday. Grego (6-1, 190) hit .376 with 14 home runs and 55 RBIs and stole 15 bases this past season while also being named to the All-MAC defensive team.

FAYETTEVILLE – When Arkansas’ baseball program takes the field in September for fall practice, there will likely be a core group of position players back and a number of quality of pitchers. But with likely numerous losses to the Major League Baseball Draft on July 13-14, at least 8 reserves already in the transfer portal and exhausted eligibility, there will once again be a bevy of new faces as well.

FAYETTEVILLE – While Arkansas baseball fans can lament what might have been at the College World Series, the Razorback coaches don’t have that luxury. Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn and his staff must turn the page and continue the transfer portal recruiting process to replenish talent that won’t be back from this season’s 50-15 squad. “…You’re always looking to the future,” Van Horn said when asked about recruiting following Wednesday night’s 6-5 season-ending loss to LSU.
