Britain’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has secretly censored detailed public computer security guidance provided to barristers, solicitors and legal firms without explanation or announcement. The guidance, a web page and a seven-page PDF report called “Cyber Security Tips for barristers, solicitors, and legal professionals”, was removed from the Centre’s public website two weeks ago on 24 February.

An unprecedented letter from the US Congress, released today, accuses the UK of “a foreign cyberattack waged through political means”. The claim refers to a Home Office secret demand last month (reported by CW here, here and here) that Apple break the security protecting its Advanced Data Protection cloud security system to let British spies into anyone’s secure files.

TAB members contracts expired Enquiries by Computer Weekly have revealed that the Home Office has not been paying close attention to supporting or managing the Board membership. According to a 2022 government press release, the contract for the chair expired in August and the contracts for all but two listed TAB members expired last month.
