HYDE — The final home game of the season for the Clearfield Bison had everything one could expect. The visiting Central Dragons, whom Clearfield beat to start the 2025 season, came in as the favorite, taking a lot of momentum into the latter part of the season and playoffs. The Dragons took the lead and kept the Bison from making it around the bags. Until everything changed.

Things were short and sweet on Thursday afternoon when the Lawrence Township Supervisors convened for their first monthly meeting. Originally scheduled for Tuesday, the meeting was moved a few days later with the Township Municipal Building closed at the beginning of the week. It was an easy evening for those in attendance as there was no major topics on the docket.

CURWENSVILLE — The season is drawing closer to a conclusion with each passing day, and it seems the Curwensville Golden Tide has found a late surge in their campaign with their last two victories. The Tide have plated 34 runs in the last 12 innings, an average of almost three runs per inning. On Wednesday afternoon, hoping to keep the scoring going, they welcomed the Glendale Vikings in for competition under the sun-filled skies below the Curwensville Junior-Senior High School.

JOHNSTOWN — Hoping to avoid any more rain delays or postponements, the Clearfield Bison made a long trip south to get in some baseball on a Tuesday afternoon. The one advantage they had, facing off against the Trojans of Greater Johnstown meant a consistent field due to a turf surface, giving a greater chance of getting the afternoon contest completed. That did happen, but no one expected the game to be a battle of the bats.

WILLIAMSBURG — Putting up a season-high 20 runs in their last outing felt really good for the Curwensville Golden Tide, and they were eager to get back on the field and see if that effort would continue into the next game. After having to wait a day due to rain, the squad loaded up the bus and traveled out to Williamsburg for the second showdown on the year against the Blue Pirates.
