Things on Tuesday night for the Lawrence Township supervisors were rather quick with a few members not present to deliver their reports. Still, enough were available to hold voting, with namely focusing on personnel and finances. Township manager, Ashley Pritchard, saw her proposal to attend the Secretary and Manager Summit in State College approved for her and township secretary, Chelsey Witherite.

DUBOIS — Still riding an incredible feeling after upsetting the top team in the Class 2A bracket, the Curwensville Golden Tide spent their Memorial Day back on the baseball diamond at Showers Field. The opportunity to win the District IX Championship for the first time since 1998 was on the horizon, but to do so they had to face off with the Redbank Valley Bulldogs for the second time this season.

DUBOIS-Entering Friday afternoon at Shower’s Field, the Curwensville Golden Tide had been aching to be on the baseball field in some aspect. It was March 12 when they last competed in a game. Weather has not been kind to anyone this season when it came to baseball, but when it mattered, the Tide came onto the field. In doing so, they had a major battle on their hands, entering into the District IX playoffs as the No. 4 seed in Class 2A.

DUBOIS — It did not look, nor feel, like baseball weather, especially when a championship was on the line. But, despite the skies looking grey and rather questionable, along with the rain from early in the day, the District IX title game would still happen between the Clearfield Bison and the Punxsutawney Chucks. The second meeting between these two teams in a matter of eight days would happen on neutral ground, at Showers Field in DuBois.

The Street Department highlighted both planned projects and some major needs when Clearfield Borough Council met on Thursday evening, as Todd Kling spoke on multiple items that the area will be needing done, both in the works, and expected to start soon. Kling mentioned how he met with FEMA engineers to plan out both the Stinky Run and Oars Run projects, but he wanted to make it a priority with the Stinky Run project that the borough needed to be aware about their responsibility.
