While Bowen Yang has said he’ll eventually leave Saturday Night Live, I seriously doubt that’ll happen at the end of this season. Yang and Marcello Hernandez might be the closest thing SNL has to breakout stars right now, and I don’t see him walking away just yet for a film and television career. Bill Owens —- a 37-year CBS News veteran who’s overseen the storied newsmagazine for the last six years —- was forced out yesterday, to the deep frustration of both the staff and Owens himself. He delivered a tearful farewell (he’ll remain on for a few more weeks), but left no doubt about why he’s leaving. “It’s clear that I’ve become the problem. I am the corporation’s problem,” he told his staff, according to audio obtained by Status.

By Dustin Rowles | Celebrity | April 22, 2025 A few weeks ago, in writing about the new Kate Hudson series, Running Point, I joked about the casting heirarchy for funny, sarcastic douchebag supporting characters in comedies, putting Ike Barinholtz (a co-creator on the series) at the top, Scott MacArthur (his stand-in on the show) next, followed by Ike’s brother Jon Barinholtz, Scott’s brother Hayes MacArthur, and finally, David Walton.
