It hasn't taken long for Purdue's number of transfer portal departures to swell into the 20s. On Thursday, transfer quarterback EJ Colson and highly-touted offensive lineman Rod Green became the latest to enter their names into the NCAA database. Colson was one of three transfer quarterbacks to commit to Purdue after the coaching change, hiring Barry Odom to be the next leader of the Boilermakers. He arrived in West Lafayette in the winter after spending just one season at UCF.

Freshman forward Raleigh Burgess underwent successful surgery on his right leg on Wednesday, the Purdue men's basketball program has announced. He is expected to make a full recovery and be ready to play when the 2025-26 college basketball season rolls around. "Rising sophomore forward Raleigh Burgess underwent successful surgery on his lower right leg on Wednesday and is expected to make a full recovery in time for the start of the 2025-26 basketball season," the statement from Purdue read.

There could be a homecoming of sorts in West Lafayette within the next few days. Former Purdue quarterback Ryan Browne is returning to town this week for a visit after entering the transfer portal following a three-month stint at North Carolina. Browne initially entered the transfer portal following the conclusion of Purdue's 2024 season, a year in which the Boilermakers finished 1-11. He committed to North Carolina and went through spring practice with new coach Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels.

Purdue was already among the betting favorites to win college basketball's national championship in 2026, but after a big day on the recruiting front on Wednesday, the Boilermakers are now the favorite. On Wednesday, the Boilers received a commitment from top 2025 international prospect Omer Mayer, a 6-foot-4 guard who is considered among the best players at his position. Later in the day, Purdue landed a pledge from North Florida transfer wing Liam Murphy.
