    FOLLANSBEE, W.Va. — The Allegheny Creek Bridge project is complete in Follansbee. The next step is to add some landscaping around it and it will officially be accessible this spring. The bridge did bring forth some contention between residents and the council during the planning phase, but Mayor David Velegol said the city is happy with how it turned out. "A lot of the kids will use that bridge as they have in the past to go to the pool,” Velegol said.

    WEIRTON, W.Va. — Officials in Weirton unveiled the city's new 'one call' system for communicating with residents on Monday. Right now, the city can contact people through text. The new system will allow them to place calls about emergencies, outages and more. Mayor Dean Harris said the decision to implement the new system came to light after the water situation this past winter. But the city plans to use it for a variety of notifications.
