Springboks centre Damian de Allende produced a colossal performance as he led the Saitama Panasonic Wild Knights to a 46-32 victory over Kobelco Kobe Steelers in Japan Rugby League One. The Wild Knights remain the only unbeaten team in the competition, having won nine of their 10 games so far this season, drawing once. De Allende starred in the win over former Wallabies head coach Dave Rennie’s charges, scoring twice and assisting another as the Knights claimed a seven-try bonus-point victory.

All Blacks and Blues speedster Caleb Clarke has issued an apology after admitting that he drove dangerously and failed to stop for police. Clarke’s case was heard in the Auckland District Court on Monday but he was excused from attending. “Last year I made an error of judgement while riding my motorbike in Auckland,” read a statement released on behalf of Clarke. “I’ve taken full responsibility for my actions and have entered a guilty plea today. “I’m extremely apologetic and embarrassed.

Scotland withstood a scare from Italy as Huw Jones’ hat-trick helped them open their 2025 Six Nations campaign with a victory at Murrayfield. The hosts had opened in fine style, finding themselves 14-0 and then 19-6 ahead thanks to tries from Rory Darge, Huw Jones and Ben White, but the Azzurri hit back. Tommaso Allan responded with two penalties before another brace of three-pointers reduced the arrears to seven.

All Blacks youngster Wallace Sititi, who rose to the top of the game in 2024, is set to miss at least part of the Super Rugby Pacific season due to surgery on a knee injury. The 22-year-old enjoyed a remarkable campaign last year, firstly impressing for the Chiefs before being called up by new All Blacks head coach Scott Robertson. Sititi had to wait for his chance but, after making his Test debut midway through the Rugby Championship, the skilful forward never looked back.

Springboks centre Jesse Kriel fired the Canan Eagles to victory in the Japan Rugby League One this weekend scoring two tries against Kwagga Smith’s Shizuoka Blue Revs. In a 12-try thriller, it was the Eagles who emerged 53-35 victors with Kriel setting up one try and finishing off two himself while teammate Faf de Klerk enjoyed a lively outing at scrum-half.
