Alex Palou continued his early-season dominance on the IndyCar circuit, winning the Sonsio Grand Prix on Saturday on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course for his fourth victory in five races. Palou is the first driver since Sebastien Bourdais in 2006 to win four of the first five races in a season. The 28-year-old from Spain has won the Sonsio three years in a row, an event record. “I cannot describe the amazing season we’ve had so far,” Palou told IndyCar.com.

The TinCaps managed only three hits and two walks and struck out 12 times in a 5-0 loss to South Bend at the Cubs' Four Winds Field on Saturday. Fort Wayne (18-14) had already clinched a split of the six-game set and can still win the series with a victory Sunday. The TinCaps slipped two games back of first-place West Michigan in the Midwest League East ahead of their series with the Whitecaps next week at Parkview Field.

The No. 4 seed Mastodons (20-24) advanced to the semifinals in the winner's bracket and will face second-seeded Robert Morris at 2:30 p.m. today for a trip to the championship series. PFW has won 20 games for the first time since 2014.
