    A baseball team from Region 9 has won a Utah state championship every year since 2015, and at this point in the season, it looks like history will repeat itself in 2025. In the most recent Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) listings for 4A baseball, Desert Hills (20-3) is No. 1 and defending champion Snow Canyon (16-4) is right behind at No. 2. The final RPI numbers will be used to determine seedings in the upcoming 4A state tournament.

    Fans of the Trailblazers can get a sneak peak of this year’s Utah Tech football team Saturday in a scrimmage at Greater Zion Stadium. The game concludes Utah Tech’s spring camp and kicks off at 2:50 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Head coach Lance Anderson is in his second year on the sideline in St. George, compiling a 1-11 overall record last season including a 1-7 mark in the United Athletic Conference.

    The Desert Hills Thunder continue to take care of business in Region 9 softball. After sweeping Cedar in two games last week, Desert Hills remained unbeaten in region play (10-0) and improved to 21-1 overall. With two region contests remaining on their schedule, the Thunder is assured of at least a share of the region title. The Reds slipped to 8-2, 16-5 and remained in second place in the region standings. The remaining five teams in Region 9 do not have winning records, overall or in region play.

    A pipeline connecting Enterprise and Ephraim is being built, one wrestler at a time. Enterprise High School seniors Alexandra Ramirez and Addilee Hall became the third and fourth Wolves in school history who will go to Snow College to wrestle for the Badgers. Ramirez and Hall signed their letters of intent on Friday afternoon in the Enterprise gym in front of family, friends, coaches and school administrators.
