The IDW Transformers comics represent one of the franchise's strongest eras. Introduced in 2005, IDW developed this beloved set of characters for almost a decade across different ongoings, miniseries, and one-shots. They presented a version of the Cybertronian war that wasn't nearly as cut and dry as the ones in the past, where even the good guys weren't always heroic. This writing allowed the Autobots to shine as three-dimensional characters rather than paragons of justice.
