Jess lives in West Harbor, Connecticut, a charming coastal town on the Long Island Sound. It reminds me of several real towns, like Mystic, Connecticut, as well as Gilmore Girls’s Stars Hollow. Did you base West Harbor on any real town — or what inspired it? I did base West Harbor a little on the Fairfield area of Connecticut. I have friends who live there, and I’ve spent a lot of time hanging out on the beach.
