    Syria is not a partner country yet but has received funding with exceptional approval by the GPE Board. Syria received an accelerated grant of US$3.75 million to support the program: Emergency Response to Earthquake in Syria: Educational Support for Syrian Children. The program aims to ensure that children most affected by the earthquake in north-west Syria, including those with disabilities, have equitable access to safe and protective learning environments.

    Today there’s a lot of buzz around an US drone company Wing (Google) delivering blood in London by using Apian’s API that talks to the NHS to book logistics, apart from saying API’s are normally FREE. My comment is it’s taken a ridiculous amount of time, effort & tax payers money (£2million tax funded grants) to make this all happen.

    Transforming education in Viet Nam Viet Nam recognizes education as a national priority. Since 2008, the government has been spending 20% of its budget on education. The government’s strong commitment to education and long standing cultural and social support for education have led to significant progress in the sector. Viet Nam has high primary school completion rates, strong gender parity, low student/teacher ratios, and a low out of school rate.

    Transforming education in Guinea-Bissau Guinea-Bissau's 2011-2013 transitional education plan was endorsed in 2010 and the country organized its first joint sector review in 2014 and two other ones in 2020 and 2022. The plan could not be fully implemented due to the coup in 2012, when many donors withdrew. However, the country has taken positive steps by planning to organize annual joint sector reviews as part of its new education sector plan monitoring mechanism.

    Grenada is a member of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and as such is being supported by GPE alongside Dominica, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The OECS recognizes the importance of improving education systems so that all individuals can access quality education and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
