Atlantic City Police came upon something they weren't expecting while looking into the rooming house fire that happened on Sunday, April 6th. Police said Monday that they found a body while investigating the fire at 408 N. Ohio Avenue. The blaze did extensive damage to the upper floors of the 4-story building. The owner of the building told fire and rescue units that night that all the tenants were accounted for.

It is extremely sad to read this man's feelings less than a week after the passing of his oldest children. On Thursday, April 10, 2025, my home located in the city of Millville caught fire, resulting in the loss of my two oldest daughters, Valery, 13 years old, and Gissel, 11 years old.

There's been an update in the case of Matthew Shriver, the Brigantine man who was arrested in November 2024 for having sex with an underage girl at a gymnastics business where he was a co-owner. Breaking AC reports that Shriver was indicted in February on seven counts, including aggravated sexual assault, endangering, and criminal sexual conduct with a minor. The New Jersey Department of Education has released the 2023-2024 average SAT scores for NJ's public high schools. Last year was the first time that New Jersey high schoolers took the test online. Statewide, scores fell for the third consecutive year. The NJ average combined SAT score was 1,049, down from the 2022-2023 score of 1,058. The state average in the reading and writing sections of the test was 530, and the NJ average score in the math section of the test was 519.

A Burlington County guy admitted in court on Thursday that he pushed the owner out of his vehicle and stole it from him in the parking lot of the Hammonton Goodwill store. Patrick Herrschaft, 54, of Mount Laurel, pleaded guilty to robbery. Herrschaft admitted he stole the vehicle, saying he had asked the vehicle's owner for a ride to Camden when he encountered him sitting in the parking lot of the White Horse Pike Goodwill on Feb. 24, 2024, but the owner refused.
