Kate is finding new inspiration from the Dalai Lama

Kate says she's writing a new book called "trans, just for the fun of it" I can't tell if kate is joking or serious, but I love how kate keeps the whole lecture light yet interesting and educational. I'm learning a lot.

Kate lives with PTSD from the trauma of the church of Scientology which kate spent 12 years in trying to run from gender.

Kate says "there is no right way to be transgender"

"You're no a real man because you're too girly" = misgendering

Misgendering is used as a weapon by cis gendered people. A cis woman telling a trans woman she is not a real woman because she has not had a child is an example

Misgendering is a weapon. "Is that a man or is that a woman?" Kate says that is not an important question, the important question is why do you need to know.

Kate feels all trans individuals are family

Families are now welcoming their trans children much more than before

Kate is proud of specifying that gender is not dependent on genitals or hormones

"Gender is a space... there is the space for female and male as soon as you enter a third space it breaks apart and is called a dialectic"

"Transgender" is different than "transexual" or "transvestite" to kate transgender means family to anyone experimenting with gender

One of the first things she says is that she will curse and thank you
