President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday at Amuro-Mgbom in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi inaugurated the 118.85 kilometres of the Ebonyi section of the Trans-Saharan Super highway. The President, who was represented by Gov. Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi said that the project would usher in massive socio-economic development in the stat. Dr Olufunso Ojo, a US based Nigerian Medical Doctor, has been conferred with the honour of Outstanding Georgia Citizen for his exceptional contributions to Medicine. In a Certificate of Award signed by Brad Raffensperger, the Secretary of State of the State of Georgia, US, Ojo was honoured for his compassionate patient care and philanthropic leadership. A copy of the certificate and a Proclamation by the Georgia State Senate was made available to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.

Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has urged the Federal Government to fast-track the Ogwashi-Uku Dam project to realise its economic value for local communities. He made the appeal during a visit by the Benin-Owena River Basin Authority, led by Managing Director and CEO, Dr Femi Adekanbi, to Government House, Asaba, on Wednesday. The Delta State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has disclosed that it has not been able to ascertain the total number of houses affected by the tragic rainstorm that ravaged Jeddo, Ughoton and Ugbokodo communities in Okpe local government area.
