Paris-based developer Sloclap is perhaps best known for developing in-depth combat systems, as evidenced by their two released titles so far: 2017’s Absolver and 2022’s Sifu. As such, at least at first glance, it was surprising to see this studio announce REMATCH — “an online multiplayer football experience”.

I’ve been looking forward to Koira – the debut title from Brussels-based Studio Tolima – ever since I first had an appointment for it at gamescom 2023. About a year and a half later, after rolling credits in roughly four hours, I’m pleased to state that Koira tells a beautiful and touching tale featuring the cat-like player character and a sweet red-nosed dog, the latter of which completely steals the show.

I was first made aware of Koira — the debut title from Belgium-based Studio Tolima — at gamescom 2023. In a round-up article that went live after the trade show, I wrote about how impressed I was by this heartfelt adventure game inspired by Journey and Princess Mononoke.

Just before gamescom last year, I got access to hands-on time with inZOI: the ambitious life sim coming soon from South Korean-based KRAFTON, who you may know as the studio behind battle royale giant PUBG. Ahead of its Steam Early Access launch on March 28th, I was invited to a playtest of the current inZOI build, one that should be representative of what fans should expect come the end of the month.
