The holidays, and holiday travel, are — thankfully — over. My family trip to Colorado included an unfortunate 15-hour delay at Washington’s Dulles International Airport that was, in a sense, eye opening. How does one entertain two young children for 15 hours in an airport on Christmas? For one, creeping delays, as annoying as they are, were our unwanted friend — they forced us to move around and change things up for the kids every few hours.

Seattleites will have two new options to Asia on their hometown airline next year when Alaska Airlines launches new nonstops to Tokyo and Seoul. Alaska will fly daily from Seattle to Tokyo’s Narita Airport beginning May 12, 2025, giving travelers a new option to explore the streets of Ginza or stay at one of the city’s many luxurious hotels. The flights to Seoul begin in October 2025 offering travelers easy access to the city’s vibrant cultural scene and the center of K-pop.

A former Super Micro Computer strategy director is pressing ahead with allegations the hardware manufacturer retaliated and ultimately fired him for reporting what he believed to be accounting improprieties and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) violations. Lawyers for Bob K. Luong filed a motion on Tuesday to lift a previous stay so an amended whistleblower complaint against Super Micro and its CEO, Charles Liang, can be filed and potentially proceed in federal court.

Some big names in the airline industry are skeptical that struggling Spirit Airlines will be able to keep flying even as it restructures in bankruptcy. “I think the current business plan is not going to work and, if they pursue it, Chapter 11 will be a brief pit stop on the way to Chapter 7,” Scott Kirby, CEO of United Airlines, said at an event at Washington’s Dulles International Airport on Thursday.
