Former Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua has alleged that one of President William Ruto’s children is controlling the miraa sector in Kenya. Speaking on Saturday, June 21, Gachagua claimed that the President’s child took over the miraa business together with Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Aden Duale. He accused Ruto of firing leaders from the Mt.Kenya region and playing with residents of Meru County. Gachagua alleged that the two have joined the miraa business and caused problems to famers.

The Kenya National Union of Nurses and Midwives (KNUNM) has announced the date when the national strike will commence. In a notice dated Friday, June 20, KNUNM General Secretary Seth Panyako said the members will attend the National Advisory Council Meeting on June 27, 2025.
