How much will the Israel Tax Authority take from the reported sum of $23 billion that Alphabet (parent company of Google) will pay for Israeli cloud security startup Wiz? The lowest estimate is $2.5 billion, while the highest is $3.5 billion. The tax liability in Israel arising from the acquisition falls on the Israeli shareholders in Wiz. Each of Wiz’s founders - Assaf Rappaport, Yinon Costica, Ami Luttwak and Roy Reznik - is believed to hold 10% of the shares in the company.

This morning, after several delays because of the Swords of Iron war, the Israel Tax Anthony’s computerized scheme for combatting the phenomenon of fictitious invoices came into effect. The Tax Authority will operate a digital control system for transactions, in real time, through the allocation of approval numbers for invoices when they are issued.

Israel Tax Authority director Shay Aharonovich is moving up a gear in the battle against tax evasion in real estate. The Authority is in the process of obtaining lists from the Land Registry (Tabu) of tens of thousands of people who own properties in Israel, in order to cross check the data with its own information and locate those who rent out properties without declaring the income.
