The period between Christmas and New Year is often regarded as a kind of limbo between celebrations. For many, it’s a break from work, school, the usual hustle and bustle of modern day living. No matter that the new Waveney Valley constituency is formed from five different rural Suffolk and Norfolk seats, all have historically been held by Conservatives with comfortable majorities. But this General Election promises to be very different. The last 14 years of Conservative government have shown the party to be incompetent, unimaginative, lacking compassion, at times displaying a sense of entitled elitism that will likely tarnish their reputation for years to come.
