1 Introduction Arterial stiffness (AS) is an independent predictor of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and is strongly associated with hypertension and future cardiovascular events [1]. Regular participation in resistance training (RT) has been endorsed by current guidelines as a promising intervention for the prevention and treatment of CVD [2]. Yet, the effects of RT on AS are not fully understood and remain to be ascertained [3].
