In December 2017, the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse handed down its final report. The following year, the National Redress Scheme was established. But six years on, many survivors of abuse are still waiting to be compensated with at least 50 applications road blocked because 12 organisations - including sporting groups - are refusing to join the Redress Scheme.

South Korea's main opposition party has urged President Yoon Suk Yeol to resign immediately or face impeachment after dramatic scenes in the capital overnight. The President had imposed martial law vowing to eliminate "anti-state" forces - he accused of sympathising with communist North Korea. Troops had encircled parliament but the martial law was short-lived with the National Assembly voting to overrule the president early this morning.
