This is an attempt to address the exodus of sixth form pupils out of county and to make the system in Powys more financially viable as well as improve A level results. But the report concedes that these changes might take years to implement.

All through primary and secondary school, Abertillery 3-16 Learning Community were inspected by Estyn back in March. Estyn published their inspection report earlier this month which said that the school requires “significant improvement” and have provided four recommendations telling the school what needs to be worked on. They will return in around a year’s time to see what progress has been made.
