Stark U.N. emissions report on climate change Climate scientists working at the European Union's Copernicus Climate Change Service have announced that 2024 is "virtually certain" to be the warmest year on record. According to its ERA5 dataset, the agency said it was "virtually certain" that the annual temperature for 2024 will be more than 1.5 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial level, and it will likely be more than 1.55 C above.

Trump under fire for comedian's comments at rally Reggaeton star Nicky Jam on Wednesday revoked his endorsement of Donald Trump after a comedian called Puerto Rico "a floating island of garbage" at a Madison Square Garden rally for the former president. Nicky Jam, who is Puerto Rican, announced to his 42 million social media followers he was rescinding his endorsement. He had endorsed Trump during a campaign rally in Las Vegas in September.

Study finds Americans will move due to extreme weather The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released its seasonal outlook for the winter months, which predicts the U.S. will slowly transition into a La Niña pattern that could bring wetter-than-average conditions in the North and drier-than-average conditions in the South. NOAA's seasonal outlook expects wetter-than-average conditions across the Ohio Valley, the Great Lakes region and the Northwest.

Actress Jenna Fischer, known for her role as Pam Beesly in the sitcom "The Office," revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year but is now cancer-free after receiving treatment. Fischer said in a post on Instagram on Tuesday she was diagnosed with Stage 1 triple-positive breast cancer in December of last year after an inconclusive mammogram led to a breast ultrasound. "I never thought I'd be making an announcement like this but here we are.
