    In June, Norway proposed 386 license areas in the Norwegian Sea for future deep-sea mining activities. During the ensuing three-month public consultation period, the government received more than 70 responses from various organizations and members of the public. The responses offered a mix of views: the majority opposed Norway’s deep-sea mining plans, a minority expressed support, and many across the board called for more research.
